Welcome to the website for the Anesthesiology Residency Program at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville (UFCOM-J). We provide an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) fully accredited three-year residency program and offer four positions each year (PGY-2 to PGY-4). We have four linked PGY-1 preliminary surgery positions with the department of surgery that have been organized to give the best preparation to enter our anesthesiology residency program.

Our department has a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed faculty who embrace the mission of educating and forming excellent consultants in anesthesiology while building clinicians with the skills and principles needed to become exemplary physicians.

UF Health Jacksonville is very unique in the city of Jacksonville since we take care of a very broad range of patients from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. SJMC is a Level 1 trauma center for North Florida and South Georgia, and provides our residents with a vast exposure to complex and challenging cases with multiple trauma—blunt and penetrating—including neurosurgical, orthopaedic, and pediatric trauma. At SJMC, we have a broad spectrum of general surgery cases including laparoscopic and robotic surgical approaches, as well as cardiothoracic surgery, gynecologic surgery and high-risk obstetric care, oral maxillofacial surgery, and plastic surgery.

Our competency-based curriculum, together with the unique patient exposure, research, didactics, grand rounds, and simulation training, provides our residents with the perfect environment for becoming well-rounded anesthesiologists Please feel free to browse through our website, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
