Patient Care
Students provide patient care to the greater Jacksonville community, as well as the State of Florida through required hands-on curriculum coursework. Students in their first professional year learn the basics of patient care under the direction of a pharmacist in our community. Pharmacies participating in these hands-on courses, titled Practicum I and II, include:
- Weise Prescription Shop
- CVS
- Walgreens
- Publix
- Winn-Dixie
Students in their second professional year learn more advanced skills of pharmacy in the Practicum III and IV courses at participating institutions and community pharmacies including:
- Shands Jacksonville Medical Center
- Baptist Medical Center
- Memorial Hospital
- Flagler Hospital
- St. Vincents Hospital
- River Garden
- Publix
- Walgreens
- CVS
- Weise Prescription Shop
During their third and fourth professional year, students complete Advanced Practice Experiences at institutions and community pharmacies not only in the Jacksonville area, but across the state and nation.
