Goals & Objectives
The residency-training program is structured to enhance residents' opportunities to master the clinical skills and knowledge essential for the effective practice of emergency medicine. Under the guidance and supervision of a highly qualified and nationally recognized attending staff, residents are afforded the opportunity to develop a high level of clinical maturity,
judgment and technical skills. These goals are accomplished through an increasing degree of patient care responsibilities in a high volume, inner-city emergency department. In addition, the residency offers a wealth of academic resources for residents to develop research, teaching and administrative skills.
We also offer our residents the unique opportunity to broaden individual interest through exposure to a variety of pre-hospital initiatives through the department's field operations, which includes tactical medicine, sports medicine and NASA launch/landing support.
