Welcome from the Division Chief

There are key physical, psychological and physiological differences between adults and children. To address these differences, the UF Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine was created along with a separate pediatric emergency department. Our PED is located within Shands Jacksonville, which is one of only two hospitals in Northeast Florida to have a separate PED that focuses exclusively on children's needs. In addition, our division offers the only accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship in the state of Florida.
