Jacksonville offers a variety of options for shopping and leisure activities. We have included a sample here; please feel free to post other suggestions on the student bulletin board in the dormitory.

Jacksonville Landing

Entertainment, Shops, Restaurants, Food Court, Running/Jogging Paths
Riverfront, Downtown. Jefferson Street south to Union Street east. Right on Laura, to Bay Street, left to Landing. Patrons parking lot under Main Street Bridge east of Landing.

Jacksonville's Beaches

Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach
Jefferson Street south to Union Street east, across Matthews Bridge, Arlington Expressway/Atlantic Blvd. approx. 18 miles to A1A/3rd Street.

Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach
I-95 South approx. 8 miles to J. Turner Butler Blvd. East on JTB approx. 12 miles to A1A/3rd Street.

Shopping

St. John's Town Center
I-95 South to J.Turner Butler Blvd. west to Gate Parkway north. Entrance to mall complex off Gate Parkway on the right.

Regency Square Mall
Jefferson Street south to Union Street east, across Matthews Bridge. Arlington Expressway/Atlantic Blvd. approx. 7 miles. On the left.

Avenues Mall
I-95 South approx. 12 miles to Phillips Highway (US1) exit. Turn left. On the left.

Orange Park Mall
I-95 South 2.5 miles to I-10 west. One-half mile to Roosevelt (US17) south exit. Roosevelt south 2-3 miles to San Juan, turn right. Go one-half mile to Blanding, turn left. Go approx. 7 miles to just south of I-295. On the left.

Historic 5 Points
Hypnotique, Edge City, Fans and Stoves, etc. (for Directions see Restaurants)

Post Office

There are many post offices in Jacksonville. The closest one to the hospital is located at 1100 Kings Road. Take I-95 South, exit Kings Road.

Publix
I-95 South 2.2 miles to Margaret Street (exit 351C) south. Go right on Riverside Ave. On the immediate right. This store sells postage stamps.

Winn-Dixie
I-95 South approx. 3 miles, across Fuller Warren Bridge, approx. 3 miles to Beach Blvd. exit east on Beach approx. two miles. On the right. This store sells postage stamps.

Restaurants

St. John's Town Center: Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, Maggiano's Little Italy, Ted's Montana Grill. See directions above.

San Marco: The Loop, Thai Bistro, Sushi Rock, Café Carmon, Moe's Southwestern Grill, Cafe on the Square, European Street, I-95 South approx. 3 miles, across Fuller Warren Bridge, immediately exit San Marco Blvd. Go right, approx. 2 miles to San Marco shopping area. On the right.

Five Points Area: Chinese, Pizza Italiano, Subway Sandwiches, Sweet Basil Cafe, Heartworks Cafe, Firehouse Subs, Moss Fire Grille. I-95 south 2.5 miles to Margaret Street. Exit, south one-half mile on Margaret. Left on Post Street, right on Park Street. (Historic District, nice parks for picnics, duck pond, etc.)

Tinseltown: Friday's, Seven Bridges Grille and Brewery, Johnny Leverock's, Mellow Mushroom, Dick's Wings, Atlanta Bread Company, Moe's Southwestern Grill, Don Pablo, Tony Roma's I-95 south to J. Turner Butler Blvd. west to Southside Blvd. north. Many restaurants on both sides of road.

Arlington: Jefferson Street south to Union Street east across the Matthews Bridge. Arlington Expressway/Atlantic Blvd. approx. 7 miles, turn right onto Atlantic Blvd. On the left and right are Bennigan's, Chili's, Taco Bell, Applebee's and Bono's.

Atlantic/Jacksonville Beach: Many chain and specialty restaurants along A1A – see directions above.

Movie Theaters

Southside: Tinseltown – see directions under “Restaurants – movie complex is on right. Avenues Mall – see directions above, but turn right onto Phillips Highway (US-1) – movie complex is on right.
Arlington: Regency Mall - see directions under "Restaurants."
Orange Park: Orange Park Mall - see directions under "Shopping."
San Marco: San Marco Theater - see directions under "Restaurants."
Mandarin: Take I-95 South, exit I-295 North. About 12 miles, exit Mandarin exit 2. On the right and two and one half miles down on the left.

Nightspots

Jacksonville Landing - Shuckers, Hooter's, others - See above.
Five Points Area - Club Five, Fat Kat Lounge, Fuel Café, others - See above.
San Marco - Cafe on the Square, Café Carmon, others - See above.
Beaches - Ragtime, Northshore Grill, etc. Take Jefferson Street south, turn left on Union Street over the Matthews Bridge. This becomes the Arlington Expressway, which merges with Atlantic Boulevard. Continue east approx. 20 minutes to the Beaches.
