Alexandraki appointed as Councilor for the AFMR

Irene Alexandraki, M.D.
Irene Alexandraki, M.D., assistant professor in the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville department of medicine, division of general medicine, has been chosen as a Councilor for the American Federation for Medical Research. Dr. Alexandraki’s term as Councilor for the Southern Section Council of the AFMR begins February 2010.
The mission of the American Federation for Medical Research, founded in 1940, is to improve public health by developing programs and public policy initiatives that promote understanding and support of the advances in biomedical science for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
