Welcome from the Division Chief

Karl Smith, M.D., FACOG
Gynecologic cancer is a very personal and emotional medical condition that is feared by women. At the UF Division of Gynecologic Oncology, we try to reduce that fear through diagnosis, education and treatment in a comfortable, therapeutic and emotionally supportive setting.
Our gynecologic oncologists are specially trained surgeons who provide outpatient diagnosis and inpatient treatment of pre-cancers and cancers of the female genital tract, as well as those related to pregnancy and the placenta. These cancers include ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, vaginal, tubal and trophoblastic cancers.
Our state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility allows us to provide excellent care and an expansive range of services including the use of radiation and chemotherapy.
We strongly believe in educating each patient on the type of cancer and treatment options available to her so that she may become as involved as she would like in her treatment plan.
We encourage you to explore our website and contact us with any further questions.
