Thank you for your interest in our program. We have a holistic approach when selecting applicants. Each application will be reviewed individually and those selected for an interview will be personally contacted via email. Our program uses Thalamus, an online scheduling program for interviews, therefore you may schedule or change interview dates at your convenience once you have been invited. Please include the following documents in your application. Thorough completion of your application is important to our review committee, so please include all items. Incomplete applications may not be reviewed.

  • ERAS common application form
  • Official medical school transcript
  • USMLE or COMLEX exam reports (Step 1 and Step 2)
  • Dean's letter
  • Two or three letters of recommendation
(Letters can be written by any faculty member with whom you have worked. We do not require a chairman's letter.)
  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Photograph

For specific eligibility requirements, please refer to the eligibility and selection policy .pdf (Adobe PDF Document). We have 14 PGY-1 categorical positions and two preliminary child neurology positions for the next academic year. Our preliminary child neurology positions are linked to the child neurology fellowship training program at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL. This training opportunity is in collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville, FL. To apply for these two preliminary positions, applicants will need to apply to both programs (i.e. University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville pediatric residency as well as the Mayo Clinic/Nemours Childrens' Health child and adolescent neurology program). The applicant pool is very competitive. Our strongest international applicants also have one year or more of clinical or research experience in the U.S. and should have graduated within the past five years or completed pediatric residency in his/her home country.

All applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The deadline for submitting applications is Nov 1.

If you are currently in medical school and would like information on a fourth-year elective in pediatrics, please review procedures for visiting students.
