Child advocacy is a fairly new practice on the timeline of human history. Although it is still evolving, great strides have been made to protect and care for children.

At the UF Division of Child Protection & Forensic Pediatrics, child advocacy is what we do. Our division provides direct patient care services for all types of child abuse and neglect. Our use of technology, like telemedicine, provides unique ways to reduce the stress placed on children while reaching a larger population, stretching beyond the boundaries of our city.

We also recognize the necessity of proactive advocacy, which is evident in our commitment, development and implementation of effective preventive measures for child maltreatment. Our physicians train medical students, residents and graduate physicians in these practices.

The division also provides oversight to the Department of Health Statewide Child Protection Team Program.

If you have additional questions about our division, please contact us.
