Application Process
For specific eligibility requirements, please refer to our GME brochure.
All applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service at www.aamc.org/eras/ais/start.htm. The following documents need to be provided to ERAS:
- ERAS common application form
- Official medical school transcript
- USMLE or COMLEX score reports (Step 1 and Step 2)
- Dean's letter
- Three letters of recommendation (Letters can be written by any faculty member with whom you have worked. We do not require a chairman's letter.)
- Personal statement
- Curriculum vitae
- Photograph
The deadline for submitting applications is November 1.
The Residency Recruitment Committee reviews applications and selected applicants will be offered an interview in Jacksonville. Each of these individuals will be notified by mail or e-mail.
We suggest that individuals attending an interview arrive in Jacksonville the night preceding their interview. This will allow interviewees the time to attend a welcome dinner with some of our current housestaff. Accommodations will be provided for this evening. The interview day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will end at approximately 3:00 p.m. In addition to two interviews, the day will consist of opportunities to meet current housestaff, eat lunch and take tours of Wolfson Children's Hospital and Shands Jacksonville.
