Welcome
Steven P. Cuffe, M.D.
Program Director
Welcome to our four-year ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.
We are a new program recruiting our first class of residents, and we are very excited about starting an excellent training experience in psychiatry.
Our program provides a comprehensive, clinically rich environment for you to learn your chosen profession. Rotations emphasize experiences in a variety of settings that include the full range of patients with psychiatric disorders.
You will learn under the supervision of our seasoned psychiatrists trained at some of the country’s finest programs. Residents receive rich clinical education on rotations both at UF Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic and UF Health Jacksonville and with our highly respected community partners, Baptist Hospital, Wolfson Children’s Hospital,
Gateway Community Services, and Renaissance Behavioral Health. Areas of particular strength include child and adolescent psychiatry (with early exposure in the PGY-2 year),
addictions, and community psychiatry. Residents will graduate with a thorough knowledge of psychiatric assessment, differential diagnosis, biopsychosocial formulation and treatment planning (including psychopharmacology, assertive community treatment, and psychotherapy).
When you complete our training program, you will be not only an excellent psychopharmacologist, but also a psychiatrist well-rounded in psychosocial interventions
such as cognitive-behavioral therapy. Moreover, residents will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research and develop your own research ideas.
We invite you to learn more about our program and faculty by further exploring our website.
We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors in the field of psychiatry. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can offer additional assistance.
