Welcome to the division of vascular and interventional radiology in the department of radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. The division serves as a citywide referral base at UF Health Jacksonville, a 695-bed tertiary care teaching hospital. We also provide interventional radiology services at UF Health North hospital. Both institutions have state-of-the-art angiography suites with advanced software packages including 3D angiography, cone-beam CT capability, and color flow mapping. In addition, the division has a robust outpatient clinic and an active admitting service.

We encourage you to contact us if we can answer any additional questions. Thank you for your interest in our division.

Patient Care

All of the attending physicians in our division have completed Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited fellowships in vascular and interventional radiology and perform the full spectrum of vascular and non-vascular procedures.

These include abdominal and thoracic aortic endograft placement (for aneurysms, traumatic injuries and dissections), stroke thrombectomy, oncology interventions (such as Y90 infusions, chemoembolization and ablations), nephrostomies, biliary interventions, MRAs and CTAs, dialysis interventions, gastrostomies, imaging-guided biopsies/drainages, varicose vein therapy (EVLT), sphenopalatine ganglion blocks for migraines, prostate embolizations and fibroid embolizations. Generally, if it is within the knowledge domain of interventional radiology, we do it.

Our division has a long history of inter-disciplinary cooperation with our partners in other departments of the hospital. For example, our aortic endograft program is a cooperative effort with both the vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery divisions, and the stroke program is a multi-disciplinary effort with our emergency medicine, neurology, neurosurgery and neurointensive care colleagues. In our hospital, we put an emphasis on teamwork and cooperation in order to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Education

The division offers ACGME-accredited training as part of the department's four-year diagnostic radiology residency, five-year integrated interventional radiology residency and two-year independent interventional radiology residency. With the case diversity of our practice, trainees obtain experience in the full spectrum of interventional radiology giving them a solid foundation upon graduation.
