Welcome from the Division Chief

Susan D. Snodgrass, M.D.
Welcome to the site for the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Division of Women’s Imaging.
The division serves as a citywide referral base at Shands Jacksonville, a 695-bed tertiary care teaching hospital.
The UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville Division of Women’s Imaging utilizes a comprehensive approach to breast health to advance and encourage the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Our two centers, both nationally accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR and MQSA Accredited), have expanded their services at the Shands Jacksonville Breast Health Center and the Shands Jacksonville Emerson Advanced Breast Imaging Center. These sites now offer newer forms of X-ray based digital mammography, 3D imaging and elastography breast ultrasound.
Our advanced Breast Imaging Center at Emerson is one of only three centers in the Southeastern United States capable of performing the 3D Automated Breast Ultrasound.
A screening mammogram can typically be scheduled within two weeks and as quickly as one day at one of our Breast Centers with mammography services provided by nationally accredited experts in breast imaging and diagnosis.
Available imaging modalities include conventional and digital mammography, energy X-ray absortiometry (DEXA) bone density studies, ultrasound (both conventional hand-held and state of the art 3D Automated Breast Ultrasound), Magnetic Resonance (MR) Breast Imaging, as well as the full gamut of interventional breast procedures.
We encourage you to explore our division further and contact us if we can answer any additional questions.
Thank you for your interest in our division.
