The University of Florida Health Science Center-Jacksonville's academic roots stem not only from medical education, but also from faculty-driven research programs. University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville faculty physicians participate in advanced clinical trials to provide patients the latest in diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services, applied research programs and translational and basic science research.

The Jacksonville campus' Office of Research Affairs is part of the Division of Sponsored Research located in Gainesville, Florida, and supports faculty and staff in obtaining and administering internal and external research funds. Specifically, the Office of Research Affairs support faculty and staff with budget development, submission of proposals, industry and federal contract negotiations, and answer questions regarding university or agency policies dealing with grant and contract applications and funding. The Office of Research Affairs also negotiates and executes all confidentiality and research agreements and secures funding for the Jacksonville faculty. The Office of Research Affairs provide training and education support for the Jacksonville campus.

Note: All submissions for IRB review require a single electronic copy of all documents to be emailed and a single (signed) original hardcopy be provided to the IRB office. The IRB cannot log in the submission until the paper copy is received.
